Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026
ReleaseSense is an iPhone and iPad app for tracking release readiness. It's made by Pana Vassos, an independent developer in Melbourne, Australia ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
The short version
- We collect what's needed to run your account and show your releases, and nothing more.
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell your information.
- You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form; we can't see them.
- Basic account records, such as when you signed up and your plan or trial status.
What you enter in the app
- Your workspace and its projects, releases, checklists, sign-offs, blockers, notes, sprint figures and resources (for example, team members' names and capacity). This can include other people's names or email addresses if you add them, such as a stakeholder for a sign-off.
Connected integrations (optional)
- If you connect GitHub, GitLab or Testomat.io, the access token you provide. Tokens are stored encrypted and are only used to fetch data from that tool for you.
- The data fetched from those tools for your linked projects, such as issue and pull/merge request titles, labels and states, build status, test results and changelog text.
Messages you send us
- If you email us, your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Technical information
- Like most online services, our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs (such as IP address, time and the request made) for security and to keep the service running.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or device identifiers, and the app has no ads or analytics.
How we use it
- To provide the app: sign you in, store your workspace and show your releases.
- To sync data from the tools you connect, automatically about once an hour and when you ask.
- To send account emails: confirming your email address and password reset codes.
- To answer your support requests.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who helps us run ReleaseSense
We use a small number of service providers, who handle data on our behalf only to provide their service:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and server functions. Your data is stored in Supabase's Sydney, Australia region.
- Resend: sends account emails (sign-up confirmation and password reset codes).
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and forwards email sent to hello@releasesense.app.
- Google (Gmail): where support emails we receive are stored.
- Apple: distributes the app through the App Store and TestFlight, under Apple's own privacy policy.
Some of these providers may process data outside Australia (for example, in the United States or Japan). Tools you choose to connect, such as GitHub, GitLab and Testomat.io, are covered by their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, workspace, all its data and your saved integration tokens are deleted straight away. Copies may remain in our providers' backups for a short time until those backups expire. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can see and edit your data in the app, or ask us for a copy.
- Deletion: delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account. If you can't sign in, email us from your account's address and we'll delete it.
- Integrations: you can disconnect a tool at any time; you can also revoke the token in that tool.
- Questions or complaints: email us first. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the privacy regulator where you live. In Australia that's the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au); in the UK it's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU it's your country's data protection authority.
Your rights, wherever you live
Wherever you are, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information (including in a format you can reuse), correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. Email us from your account's address and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for asking.
If you're in the UK, the EU or another place with similar laws, we rely on these legal reasons to use your information:
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract): your account, workspace data and account emails.
- Your consent: integrations you choose to connect. You can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting the tool.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and working, and answering your messages.
Your information may be processed outside your country by the providers listed above. Where the law requires it, they use standard safeguards for international transfers, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other websites or apps, so "Do Not Track" signals from your browser don't change anything we do.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), integration tokens are stored encrypted, and database access rules mean only a workspace's owner can see its data in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
ReleaseSense is a work tool and isn't directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
